Dr. Hiruy was born in Dessie, Wollo, in 1950. After successfully completing his junior year at Woizero Seheen High School, he won the American Field Service (AFS) Scholarship to come to the United States for his senior year. Born in Ethiopia in 1922 E.C., Melake Genet Lissanework Woubu, completed his primary education and spiritual training in the province of Gondor. He then received his higher education in Greece at Chalks Theological College. Wegayehu Nigatu
Ethiopia's and Ethiopian's fondly remembered actor, Wegayehu Nigatu, the son of Mrs. Amsale Beyene and Mr. Nigatu Bizuneh, was born in Kebena, a neighborhood in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on May 28, 1936. Mr. Nigatu received his primary education, at the Sweedish Evangelical Mission. He was a gifted and talented individual in theater, drama and acting. While nurturing his artistic abilities on the side, Wogayehu pursued his academic interests at Teferri Mekonnen High School, where he finished his secondary education.
