Aba. Melaku Getahun

Aba. Melaku Getahun's leadership, Commitment and contribution to our community both at home and in the Diaspora are significant. He provided the key leadership needed to establish the Yared Church in Addis Ababa. Aba. Melaku's attempt to make the church self-sufficient is a noble idea that needs to be emulated. After serving the Ethiopian Tewahdo Church in Trinidad and Tobago successfully, he moved to the Washington area to provide his services to the larger Ethiopian community in America. Aba. Melaku has established St. Michael Church, providing a unique opportunity for our youth to focus and promote culture essential for our identity as people of the Diaspora.
