The Honorable Congressman Mickey Leland (posthumously): As a
distinguished congressman, our venerated teacher and role model to
African- Americans Diaspora Ethiopians, Africans and others, in
appreciation of the rich and positive contributions he made by
exemplifying the highest ideals and standards of humanity and
community, in acknowledgement of his outstanding life-long struggle
for justice, human rights, as advocate of the less fortunate, the
hungry and the down trodden, his demonstrated love of Ethiopia and
Ethiopians, for paying the ultimate price in his efforts to help
others to live, and for all of his distinctive positive attributes
Colonial Parking Inc.: In acknowledgement of Colonial Parking Inc. as
one of the largest employer of Ethiopians and other minorities in the
Diaspora and promoting them to meaningful positions of authority
within the company, in appreciation of its support to humanitarian
causes, cultural activities, athletic and other events which enhance
the affairs of the Ethiopian Community and others, as a distinguished
employer that has been a stepping stone for a number of refugees and
immigrants as well as its own exemplary entrepreneurial leadership.
