Elizabeth Hines was not only a member of the basketball, soccer, cross country, softball, and tennis sports teams, but also took advanced courses across the board like AP Literature, Honors Alegbra 2 and Geometry, AP Government, Honors Chemistry, and AP Government among others. She also plays the piano and violin.
Before mentioning her involvement in community service, it is worth noting that Elizabeth has managed to do all of this while maintaining a 4.04 GPA. She has been the recipient of distinguished awards such as the Maryland Governor’s Citation, Honorable Mention for the National Merit Scholarship, Who’s Who, and a certificate of award as best student with outstanding effort, and invited to participate in the President’s Education Award Program for outstanding academic excellence. She has traveled overseas as student and sports ambassador….Elizabeth devoted two summers to work on a mission project in Baja California, and Mexico where she did construction work for a principal’s house at an orphanage. Her community service entails four months of hospital assistance at the Washington Adventist Hospital. She is also a member of Sounds of Steel, which is a nonprofit organization that plays music for fundraisers and other events. Elizabeth is an active member of her church community. She has led and spoke at several prayer meetings, church services, and schools. She is the Junior Sligo Youth Director at church, a leader for the Hour of Hope Program, a co-director and pianist for the church choir, organizer and supervisor of the chapel band and praise team, and throughout her high school career she has been the student council pastor. |
