Karezhe Mersha is a lady whose academic accomplishments are exemplary. Having attended Long Reach High School with a GPA that would have been 4.6 if the courses she took were regular classes, Karezhe also received recognition for best performance in science, history, business, and Spanish as early as ninth grade. And her scores on the SAT I and SAT II tests were in the 96th percentile. She was selected in the Leadership University Howard County for her leadership skills and was also selected to attend the Rotary International Youth Conference whose purpose was to encourage youth to prepare for leadership roles on important national and international issues. She is in the National Honors Society and won third place in a county-wide forensics competition in the category of original oratory. Karezhe tutors students in algebra, pre-calc, and Spanish and is a member of SHOP: Students Helping Other People, where she works on community service projects. She is also a member of the Madrigal Choir Group who performs Renaissance music throughout the community. She is a recipient of the National Achievement Scholarship and will be attending Harvard in the fall.
